Though I only scanned the article, and a CTRL + F find didn’t turn up “philosophical rhymes over hard core beats” in the piece, maybe it’s there and I missed it.

But thinking of a handful of “philosophical rhymes over hard core beats” spat by some socially conscious rappers, this discussion of who might be whom is just gonna get more and more interesting…

Unlike the video vixen’s confessional that actually shockingly named names — How did that girl avoid lawsuits? Well, I guess those confessions were true — Terrance Dean’s Hiding in Hip Hop will be an elusive game of fictional tag that leaves us wondering who he writing about.

Blog fodder for days, yes, but what of the people who are outed?

Maybe it’s for the best if they are, to protect the women in their lives — and prompt them to get tested, as well all should.

I first wrote about Hiding in Hip Hop author Terrance Dean a good while ago. And now that his Hiding in Hip Hop blook is blowing up, I couldn’t help but ask myself once again: Who is Terrance Dean?

His Hiding in Hip Hop MySpace page is flashing that “Online Now!” green and orange button, and I’ve clicked send a message, or leave a comment and hesistated?

What do I really want to ask Terrance Dean?

Well, the techie in me wants to tell him to correct the “www.myspace.com/hidinginhiphop.com” listed at the bottom of his most recent blog post over on SOHH — and to take the last .com off of there.

What do I really want to say to Terrance Dean, author of Hiding in Hip Hop?

No knee-jerk hostility, no hateful comments that I’m sure will pop off by the bucketload over on Terrance Dean’s blog, prayerfully outweighed by more people praying for a Donnie McClurkin-type transformation and humbling for The Kingdom.

I guess more than that I can only pour out the love in my heart obviously place there by Christ for him.

And lead him on to a little confession of my own…

Hiding in Hip Hop Preston and Clever Men — Who are they?

Okay, we’ve got the first free excerpt online of Hiding in Hip Hop that I’ve found from Terrance Dean.

And he starts off with a (okay, I know I could say ‘bang’ but that’s too easy) cheezy escapade with some dude named Preston - basketball player, I guess — in an island hotel room.

In Hiding in Hip Hop, it sounds like Clever is his friend and Preston was an unknown hook up.

The question is, will Dean just write about crazy sexcapades like I once did in a crazy novel that God gave me a dream in which Satan smiled at me — scaring me so much I got rid of it — or will Dean tell the raw and honest and hurtful truth about illicit sex like Six Feet Under did with their gay character?

Hiding in Hip-Hop Book …

…is out, and I’ve read an excerpt or two.

More lust than contriteness, I’d rather not get paid to promote it — and sleep alright tonight in Christ.
