Hiding in Hip Hop Author Terrance Dean Blog, MySpace and More…
I first wrote about Hiding in Hip Hop author Terrance Dean a good while ago. And now that his Hiding in Hip Hop blook is blowing up, I couldn’t help but ask myself once again: Who is Terrance Dean?
His Hiding in Hip Hop MySpace page is flashing that “Online Now!” green and orange button, and I’ve clicked send a message, or leave a comment and hesistated?
What do I really want to ask Terrance Dean?
Well, the techie in me wants to tell him to correct the “www.myspace.com/hidinginhiphop.com” listed at the bottom of his most recent blog post over on SOHH — and to take the last .com off of there.
What do I really want to say to Terrance Dean, author of Hiding in Hip Hop?
No knee-jerk hostility, no hateful comments that I’m sure will pop off by the bucketload over on Terrance Dean’s blog, prayerfully outweighed by more people praying for a Donnie McClurkin-type transformation and humbling for The Kingdom.
I guess more than that I can only pour out the love in my heart obviously place there by Christ for him.
And lead him on to a little confession of my own…

I have just purchased the book Hiding in HIPHOP. I dont find that the information(though actual names are hidden)is anything new, especially to the Gay community to which I am a part. I do find that it is offensive to me as a part of that community for someone on the DL such as Mr Dean to stereotype men who are more open about who they are. I also find it odd to think just because you are open to your sexuality for him to think that alot of African American Gay men are comfortable with it whether they are effeminate or not. I can neither use the excuse that I was molested at an early age as he did or Donnie Mcclurkin to give reasons why I like men. I knew of my sexuality when I was 5. I also have been brought up in the Pentecostal Church and have heard many sermons on homosexuality. I feel also that I have had a more personal relationship with God than alot of people claim they have and i accept what God says as just what it is. I make no excuses. I also feel that if someone has given their life to God who is homsexual and decides to forsake the lifestyle, doesnt mean that they should seek out women to prove it. It may be that you should be celibate and learn what God has for you. I find it funny also that Mr Dean could accept his sexual relationship with women as a normal thing and his relationships with men as something that would put him in Hell. The same God that speaks to homosexual sins also speaks about fornication and sexual sins period that have nothing to do with being gay. Sin is sin- no respect of persons in God’s Word. Finally the DL men are hiding nothing. Whether you say you’re gay or not, recieving or giving, married or girlfriends, be sure your sin will find you out- you live for God, even behind closed doors. People are not judges, God is. Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. I will say thi. I believe Gay people have more corage to be who and what they are and those on the DL are cowards-whether they are masculine, thugs or whatever-and I believe God can better work with you when you are honest with Him and yourself-after all He said i would that you were hot or cold. If you are lukewarm i will spew you out of my mouth.

Just wanted to talk about the guy that he met at a party while in the long distance relatationship with “Derby”.
Well the guy’s name in the book was “Maximo”. In the book he is one of a four member R&B group from the 90’s.
He is described as an attractive man with a very muscular body, and was the shortest member of the group.
Any way long story short he is none other than Gary “Lil G” Jenkins of the the 1990’s R&B group Silk!! (Read for your self) It’s in the chapter Money.Power and Respect.
